Clear, research-based literacy instruction for every learner.

WordWright Education creates K–8 curriculum and handbooks that help educators teach reading and writing with clarity and purpose, with literacy and subject knowledge taught together.

Our approach

Strong readers and writers are built through explicit, well-sequenced instruction grounded in peer-reviewed research. Because comprehension depends on what students know, our work teaches literacy alongside subject knowledge rather than apart from it, and brings together the three strands every learner needs.

Language

Building the foundation

Vocabulary, background knowledge, morphology and sentence structure give students the language they need to understand and express complex ideas.

Literacy

Teaching reading and writing explicitly

Systematic instruction in decoding, fluency, comprehension and writing, taught directly and practised with purpose.

Learning

Making knowledge stick

Clear objectives, guided practice and regular review help students move from instruction to independence.

What we offer

Practical, classroom-ready materials designed by an educator for the realities of teaching.

Curriculum

Structured literacy lessons built on explicit instruction and integrated with subject-area content, with original read-aloud texts included. Teachers never need to purchase books to use the curriculum; optional trade-book connections are provided for enrichment.

Teacher and family handbooks

Clear, research-based guides on dyslexia, developmental language disorder and dysgraphia, organized by grade band from kindergarten to Grade 8.

Grounded in research

Every resource draws on peer-reviewed evidence about how children learn to read and write.

Built for real classrooms

Materials are designed to be used, not just admired: clear, structured and ready to teach.

No hidden costs

What teachers need to deliver a lesson is included, so access to strong instruction does not depend on a budget.

About WordWright

WordWright Education was founded by Robyn, a K–8 educator with 20 years of teaching experience and a Master of Special Education. Her work spans classroom teaching and small-group literacy intervention, and focuses on:

  • structured literacy
  • the language skills that underpin reading comprehension
  • integrated instruction that builds literacy and subject knowledge together

WordWright grew out of a simple observation: teachers want to provide strong, evidence-based literacy instruction, but they need materials that are clear, complete and practical to use.

Based in Alberta, WordWright creates resources that respect teachers' time and expertise, and that give every student the explicit instruction they need to become a confident reader and writer.
